Bolivia and Peru - Mar 18

Bolivia’s Secretary of the Exterior announced this week that the government will not extradite Peruvian businessman Martin Belaunde Lossio. This decision is largely based on procedural grounds, as the Bolivian government cannot extradite Lossio while they are processing Peru’s early request to extend his house arrest. Lossio, who was an advisor to Peruvian President Ollanta Humala, has been in Bolivia since December 1st after fleeing from Peru amid corruption charges.
