Kenya - Mar 17

The Kenyan government has decided to not raise electricity costs despite the current drought’s effect on water levels. The drought demands the nation produce more power from geothermal steam, which is plentiful in the nation. In the future, Kenya hopes to use these resources to generate more electrical capacity, thus lowering tariffs and eliminating some business costs. The government plans to expand the energy sector so that 75-80 of its population are connected to the grid, as opposed to the 32 percent currently. Source: Reuters
