It has been 40 years since China and Malaysia established diplomatic relations. The Chinese Foreign Minister met with the Malaysian Foreign Minister in New York to promote better cooperation. Both ministers have announced their hopes for stronger relationships, and have acknowledged the importance of ASEAN, which Malaysia has assumed chairmanship of this year, in global affairs. Malaysia also showed support for the building of the modern Maritime Silk Road that China proposed. Source: People's Daily
