Ethiopia - Mar 17
Thirteen months after an Ethiopian Airlines pilot rerouted his own plane, landed in Geneva, and requested asylum, the high court in Addis Ababa convicted the pilot of hijacking. The pilot could face up to 20 years in prison if he either returns or is forced back to Ethiopia. However, Ethiopian officials have not decided if they will request the pilot’s extradition from Switzerland or not. The pilot’s current location remains unrevealed. Source: Reuters
