The East German city of Dresden has seen 10,000 individuals rally, in support of the anti-immigration movement. There are serious concerns as to whether levels of intolerance are rising in Germany, as many other marches have been held throughout the year. Notably a fight broke out in Cologne between police and football hooligans protesting Salafism (a sect of Islam), with the protestors chanting and flashing signs in connection with Neo-Nazism. This trend falls in line with similar concerns about far-right political positions throughout Europe, with notable leaders including France’s Marine Le Pen and the Netherlands’ Geert Wilders.
