Muslim groups in Berlin organized a vigil to promote tolerance and religious freedom in Germany and to show solidarity with the victims of the Paris attacks.  German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Joachim Gauck both attended the event, which also intended as a response to recent xenophobic “anti-Islamization” rallies staged across Germany. Gauck addressed the event, saying, “We are all Germany.”
