Hong Kong - Oct 18

After almost a month of protests, the Hong Kong government has finally agreed to meet with student leaders on political reform next Tuesday. The talks will be broadcast live. The government has emphasized that the talks will be an honest dialogue, though has stressed that it must proceed under the framework of the Basic Law, Hong Kong's constitution, and the agreement of the National People's Congress on Aug. 31 that has disappointed the 30-year old pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.
