Japan - Oct 18
Three cabinet ministers paid a visit to Yasukuni Shrine on Oct. 18 after Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made an offering to the shrine under the name of prime minister. Both the South Korean and Chinese foreign ministries have criticized the move, as the shrine contains the purported spirits of class A war criminals that delineate Japanese brutality and the issue of "comfort women" to those nations during WWII.
