The World Bank has reduced its forecast for Indonesia’s economic growth this year as trade and exports are expected to slow down while the government still copes with external financing constraints. Coupled with sharp currency depreciation and waning foreign investor interest, this expected slowdown highlights challenges facing the Indonesian government. President Joko Widodo’s administration taken on a nationalistic approach in combating these economic challenges.
