As a long-time provider of financial assistance to Laos, the Japanese government has been assisting Laos in rural development since 1989, and it recently signed a new grant contract on Tuesday March 3rd that would provide grant assistance worth US$112,190. The funding will raise standards of living in 13 villages of Savannakhet province as part of the second phase of a project for food security and livelihood improvement through sustainable agriculture and community-based natural resource management.
