Lebanese politicians indicated their support this weekend for Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk’s plan to relocate Syrian refugee camps to outside Arsal, from within the city.  Machnouk and other politicians maintain that this is not a political decision, but a security decision made to defuse tensions putting the Army and civilians at risk.  The Lebanese Army has recently launched multiple raids into Syrian refugee camps, detaining hundreds of people suspected of belonging to terrorist groups.
