Maldives - Feb 10
Already a member of the South Asia free trade zone, the Maldives looks to expand economic opportunity by holding a Maldivian-Chinese conference to discuss free trade between the two nations. As the Maldives no longer remains a preferential trading partner of the European Union, the country seeks to organize duty-free fish exports to China while simultaneously increasing Chinese tourism. Currently, the Maldives is a member of the Maritime Silk Road project, which establishes trade between China and East Africa.
