Former Maldivian president and opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed was arrested on Sunday. He was charged over the 2012 arrest of Criminal Chief Justice Judge Abdulla Mohamed during his presidency. Nasheed's government arrested Judge Mohamed for the release of an opposition figure, and the arrest is now considered illegal under Article 81 of the Maldivian Constitution. During Nasheed's arrest, supporters protested outside his Malé home, the Maldives' Monetary Authority, and Republic Square. Source: The Minivan News
