The Netherlands – Apr 14

Campaigners in the Netherlands have filed a class action lawsuit against the Dutch government for allegedly failing to protect Dutch citizens from climate change. The aim of the lawsuit, the first hearing of which opened in The Hague on April 14, is to force the Dutch government to cut emissions more quickly. This is the first time in Europe that a state has been held responsible by its citizens for alleged inaction on climate change. Source: BBC News
