Yemen - Mar 24

President Hadi of Yemen has requested that the United Nations Security Council back military action against Houthi rebel forces in his country. The Houthis took control of two key cities this week, having captured Yemen's capital, Sanaa, earlier this year. The request to the UNSC comes after Hadi also asked the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League for assistance. Hadi is currently ruling from a city in the South, in contrast to the five-member ‘presidential council’  that the Houthis have set up in Sanaa. Source: BBC News
