Zambia - Sept 30

In the city of Nakonde, Zambia’s Immigration Department has arrested 26 Ethiopians attempting to enter the country illegally. One of the suspects admitted to have paid some unnamed agents to smuggle them through Zambia, to their apparent final destination of South Africa. This is not an isolated incident, as last week, 13 individuals were formally charged with various immigration offenses, 13 Ethiopians were sent back to their home country and a group of 12 people were also rounded up in a separate operation - 4 of whom were Congolese.
